In 1988, I co-founded Woodrian Editorial, where I edit and critique manuscripts, both fiction and nonfiction. I find I get as excited about and as involved in the books I edit as I do with my own writing. One of my joys in life is when a book I have edited is published.
Although I have never been a cabdriver, I have done all the other typical writer jobs and then some. I have worked in public relations, printing, theatrical lighting, and the arts, and as a stage manager, hotel clerk, computer programmer, researcher, proofreader, copy editor, waitress, and bartender.
I live in New York City in a fourth-floor walk-up whose bathtub is in the kitchen. Yes, really.
